KATE arose from a dream. As the first core skateshop based in Porto, it was founded in 2006 by two romantic freaks, with the belief that skateboarding should represent more than a hobby or a “sport,” and that skateboarding is not a trend or fashion. Represented by a diverse and eclectic group of talented people, KATE is, since its inception, a platform dedicated to the Porto skate community in all of its forms. KATE is also responsible for promoting the skateboarding scene in Porto through its events, as competitions, concerts and exhibitions, in order to spread the love and keep the flame alive.
