About Kayode Alabi Leadership and Career Initiative - KLCI
KLCI helps reduce inequalities by empowering underserved youth with life and 21st-century skills and career pathways needed for the workforce and future of work through Education for Sustainable Development, Global Citizenship Education, Technology, Mentorship, and Advocacy. We achieved this through the following initiatives and innovations. Skill2Rural Bootcamp: Organise a multiple year 2 days bootcamp where young people in underserved communities in Nigeria co-create solutions to the problems such as poverty they face within their communities using design thinking whilst developing 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, emotional intelligence, creativity etc. 10,000+ young people has been reached so far with over $100,000 raised, 13+ bootcamp and 30+ workshops organised, 50+ schools supported in more 10 states in Nigeria and Africa. Skill2Rural Bootcamp: Developed an open-source learning repository to run the bootcamp during covid-19 and currently serve as a resource for the in-person bootcamp. Launched Skill2Rural.org, a web courseware that has onboarded 215+ educators reaching 124,000+ African youth with life and 21st-century skills. Launched Rafiki AI: Africa’s first generative AI career advisor for underserved and displaced young people supported by Amazon Web Service Education Equity Initiative Teachers-in-Training Fellowship and Bootcamp: An online intensive 7 weeks bootcamp launched during covid-19 to respond to the educational crisis where teachers in Nigeria learning institutions develop the 21st-century skills to be transformative whilst coming up with innovative and tech solutions to the challenges and problem they observe or see in the educational sector.
