KBMS is a teaching and training institution in the field of Medical Sciences which has the status of university.The basic function of Kurdistan Board for Medical Specialties is to certify physicians in their primary duties as specialist in different medical discipline and to promote their professional capacity in both specialties and subspecialties according to the most update and high standards at the international levels. It is our duty to support the professional development of those Board Certified physicians throughout their career. Keeping high standards of Board Certified physicians in the future is part of main goals. This is achieved through a comprehensive continuous process in the future involving educational requirements, professional peer review evaluation, examination and professional development. The governing body of each individual specialty board comprises specialists qualified in the particular field represented by that board. Members of the governing bodies include representatives from among the national specialty organizations in related fields.Since 2009, Kurdistan for Medical Specialties has been approved by Kurdistan Regional Government and it is working continuously with a close cooperation with other medical institutes e.g. Ministry of health, Hawler Medical University, Medical Colleges of Slemani University and Duhok University, Health Directorate in Erbil, Slemani and Duhok. Kurdistan Board for Medical Specialties is working according to guidelines of Quality Assurance of Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Support of Kurdisan and Erbil Medical Syndicate during the past is highly appreciated.We are in Kurdistan Board for Medical Specialties open for exchange knowledge, training of KBMS trainers and trainees between countries to attain and sustain national, regional or international quality. Besides, KBMS conducts internal self-evaluation and external review by independent specialists and/or international expertise.
