The close interactions of the discovery and development teams result in a deep pipeline with multiple clinical and pre-clinical compounds. The major organ research group is focused on the maintenance and postponement of disease progression of three primary organ systems – lung, heart, and kidney – and is capable of assessing a drug’s activity and active mechanism in both in vitro and in vivo models. The antimicrobial group, leverages a proprietary microbial bank comprised of 20,000+ clinically-isolated strains, including anaerobic bacteria and fungi, to evaluate internally generated drug candidates effectively. The immunology group conducts research on the roles of T- and B-cells in rheumatoid arthritis, hyperuricemia, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, among others. Our laser-focus on these three therapeutic areas provides powerful and unique insights on the underlying physiological and pathological processes that drive disease, opening up new avenues to tackle specific targets. Our researchers use their expertise to locate these new directions and exploit them, resulting in innovative therapies for a wide variety of illnesses.
