About Keep On Pushing Foundation

The Keep On Pushing Foundation is a federally recognized 501(c) 3 non-profit organization founded in 2006 by former Jamaican bobsled team captain, Devon Harris. The foundation was started as a result of Devon's commitment to do whatever it takes to nourish the bodies and minds of the children in his old neighborhood, and elsewhere around the world, as Devon firmly believes they have the same potential for success as he did. The Keep On Pushing Foundation aims to support and enhance the education of kids in disadvantaged communities around the globe and to provide practical solutions to the challenges that would prevent them from getting educated. As its initial project, the KOPF has been supporting a breakfast program at the Drews Avenue Primary School, Devon’s old primary school. Since the start of the breakfast program, teachers have reported increased attendance as well as improved punctuality, behavior and test scores. KOPF has also supplemented the breakfast program with a school supplies program at Drews Avenue Primary and at four other schools in the neighborhood. Through this program, students are provided with book bags, notebooks and other supplies necessary to support their education. KOPF is in the early stages of an ambitious plan to build a kitchen/bakery and dining facility at Drews Avenue Primary School. Dubbed "Food For Thought", the goal is to feed the children as well as use the facility as a source of employment and training for young adults in the community. The foundation's ultimate goal is to encourage and empower the students and young adults in these communities to make a better life for themselves.
