Ralph Quillin's Grass Based Registered Angus Grazing operation has the perfect location - the BlueGrass of Bourbon County near Paris, Kentucky. For the past 29 years (1981), Ralph has practiced and perfected managed (controlled) grazing just a few miles from some of the world's most famous Thoroughbred Farms. Low cost farm fencing, portable livestock watering systems, water soluble mineral delivery, Lo-tek irrigation and dynamic management alternatives are a few of the unique and innovative solutions that have evolved on the Quillin operation over the past two and a half decades. So effective is the Quillin Farms grazing model, that it's a one man part time operation. 90+ fall calving cows, plus 40 or so heifers and bull calves are run on the home farm (140 acres) and 150 leased acres. Grass raised bulls are developed on the same property. The heifer calves and yearlings are raised and bred on rented pasture and return home to calve. Ralph developed and refined the concept of portable pasture water systems that is now the norm in most grazing operations throughout North and South America. He has been a featured speaker at grazing conferences and workshops in 28 states where he has shared his unique grazing prospective and experience. Ralph is available on a very limited basis for programs, field days, presentation, demonstrations plus management marketing and grazing consultation.
