Keren Sachal is a social-economic initiative aimed at providing a real opportunity for students in Israel to obtain an academic degree by reducing their financial obstacles. Keren Sachal was established in 2010 by former students, which have encountered a challenge in financing their studies, since in Israel there are no student loans offered by the government or with a government support. Keren Sachal helps eliminate the financial obstacles academic students encounter in financing their tuition and their living expenses, by offering a long-term payment plan involving small monthly payment. Keren Sachal puts great efforts in obtaining special terms for the student Loans, including zero interest loans subsidized by the academic establishments or donors. All loans are being carried out through the banking system. The students are not charged any fees for the services offered by Keren Sachal. Keren Sachal is collaborating with approximately 50 academic institutes in Israel. Many of these academic institutes subsidize part of the interest of the student loans obtained by Keren Sachal. To this day, Keren Sachal has operated more than 100,000 student loans.
