The Firm's practice covers the areas of complex real estate transactions and remedies (including creditors rights under state law and in bankruptcy), land use and entitlement regulatory law (including environmental matters related to land use), real estate finance, and related real estate finance activities; and commercial, industrial and retail leasing and premises management. Matters which the firm has handled in recent years include complex property acquisitions, leasing, financing, and development matters, representing alternatively property owners, equity participants, tenants and lenders. Clients have included high tech and industrial companies, retailers, investors, developers, and lenders. The firm has also represented lenders in connection with the exercise of remedies with respect to property secured loans, and generally provides substantive and strategic advice and, where advantageous, argument, for these and other matters before California state and Federal Courts. In connection with land use and related environmental issues, Mr. Kerstetter has appeared before various Federal, California and local governmental entities and regulatory agencies. In addition to providing specialized service and advice in my areas of expertise, Mr. Kerstetter is often asked to act in the role of senior counselor to clients on an even wider range of legal and business issues, and is frequently retained as co-counsel by national law firms to provide his expertise to their clients.
