About Kesher Yehudi

Kesher Yehudi (KY) strives to unify Israeli society by empowering future generations to lead Israel with more understanding of the “other” and a greater connection to their Jewish legacy. KY connects participants from secular and religious backgrounds through ongoing one-on-one study sessions exploring our Jewish heritage, Shabbat and holiday experiences. KY is now well-known and actively involved in 27 pre-induction academies (mechinot programs) across Israel, connecting more than 1500 young men and women from diverse backgrounds every year to their Jewish heritage and to one another. In addition, through its Chavruta Program, Kesher Yehudi connects participants from all over the country, matching them merely by age, location and field of interest. Every month, over 100 new secular Israelis of all ages are paired with a Torah study partner. Since 2012, over 26,500 young religious and secular individuals have joined the program. Because there’s no stronger glue than the Torah itself and no better light to ignite their souls. In 2016, Kesher Yehudi received the prestigious Jerusalem Unity Prize from the former president of Israel, Mr. Reuven Rivlin, “for creating a unique platform with an enormous potential for engendering true connections and increasing feelings of unity, identification and mutuality among the Jewish nation.” With your help, we can continue to foster unity and shape the next generation of Jewish leaders.
