In a traditional, litigated divorce, you hand over control of your divorce process to your lawyers, a judge, and the court system. You will have input throughout the process, but ultimately, the outcome of your divorce will be decided by a judge based on arguments made by your lawyers. The important thing to remember in mediation is that you have choices in how your mediation process proceeds. Need weekend or evening sessions? No problem. Want to have your lawyers present at your sessions? Sure.
