About KHF-HOEA: Hawaiian 'Ohana for Education in the Arts
HOEA: Hawaiian 'Ohana for Education in the Arts is a Native Hawaiian fine arts school for adult emerging artists. It is a post-secondary school of fine arts which has an admissions policy of preference for Native Hawaiians, but is open to non-Hawaiians as well. HOEA employs master Native Hawaiian artists and Indigenous art masters for its instructional staff. There are three components to the curriculum: 1) a 240-hour Studio Program of traditional and contemporary arts; 2) "Business of Art" workshops centered around financial literacy; and 3) a HOEA Market, which provides the venue for our students and Native Hawaiian fine artists from the community to exhibit and sell their works. Students must complete all three components to qualify for a certificate of completion from HOEA.
