About Kicks for Kids Foundation

We are a group of Aussie uni students harnessing the power of sports to transform disadvantaged communities here at home, and across the Indo-Pacific. Kicks for Kids was born in 2013, when Mac (aged 9) wrote a letter to the Australian Minister for Defence, asking Aussie soldiers help him deliver 100 soccer balls to children in the war-torn region of Tarin Khot, Afghanistan. More than 10 years down-the-track, alongside 5 mates from university, our mission is the same as it was when it first started... We want to enable more disadvantaged kids to access the developmental benefits of sports. Why? Because we believe in the power of sport materially improve the lives of disadvantaged children, to meaningfully contribute to Australia's regional development objectives, and to strengthen Australia's ties with its closest Indo-Pacific neighbours - through practical, relational diplomacy. Since our start, we’ve put over 4,500 soccer balls into the hands of children in 32 countries, from Syria to North Korea and Nepal.
