Diagnosed with an incurable kidney disease in 1998, Lee Hull’s frustration stemmed from his problems trying to find a cure for his disease for over a decade, which spurred him to start Kidneyhood.org and address problems faced by patients with kidney diseases. These problems include: Limited or no access to medical foods, supplements, treatments and diets that may stop or slow the progression of kidney disease. The lack of a standard treatment plan or diet if drugs fail, and no consensus on the best way to slow or stop kidney disease progression. No education for patients on how to maximize the life of their remaining kidney function and what options they may have. Our goals at Kidneyhood.org are as follows: Innovate, research and create better products for patients to help slow or stop the progression of kidney disease. Educate patients on the best ways to prolong the life of their kidneys. Build an education and support network of patients to support each other. No borders — all information and products should be available worldwide so anyone who wants help can get it. Encourage patients to be part of building a better diet and treatment plan by submitting their results.
