About Kids Above Everything

KAE is a community-based, community-responsive, and community-led organization responding to challenges within the Northeast Denver corridor. Our mission is to educate and empower youth to use their voice to create positive change in their lives and in their community. Our vision is that all youth will be inspired and supported to be their best selves today, and into the future. KAE works with youth, ages 6 through 24, who face obstacles to social emotional wellness and academic success. By integrating mentorship and media arts education within and beyond the school day, KAE helps to keep youth safe during peak hours for youth violence, allows youth to experience authentic learning, cultivates healthy and healing relationships, and allows youth to develop their voice in response to the challenges they see in their community. We believe that media arts education, including but not limited to education about social media as a platform for art and community action, can play a powerful role in stopping the spread of youth violence. We offer programming that supports our youth and families and have launched Big H.O.M.I.E.S (Helping Our Men Inspire Each-Other's Success) our mentorship program, developed to support young men of color with a primary focus on black boys and young black men.
