About Kids' Food and Drink Collective
The Kids' Food & Drink Collective - Challenging and Changing our Children's Food Culture Founded in September 2024, the KFDC is the first UK membership association for healthier children’s food and drink brands. We hope to bring together businesses, brands and parents in a common goal to drive up the standard of children’s food and drink and encourage a change in the general culture that often pervades this category. We have developed a unique accreditation system, which will help both industry and consumers to quickly and easily discern which products represent a healthier choice for children. Currently our joining criteria are designed to consider aspects such as HFSS compliance, levels of processing and artificial ingredients and sugar content (including free sugars from fruit juice, concentrates and purees) in accordance with current NHS and government guidelines. Our long-term goal is to establish a set of criteria that consumers will expect products to meet, giving brands an incentive to innovate and improve and in turn driving up overall standards across the children’s food sector.
