About Kids in the Spotlight

Kids In The Spotlight, Inc. (KITS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that helps foster care youth, ages 12-22, heal and overcome trauma through the power of storytelling and filmmaking. Our youth write their own screenplays which we produce into short films. We travel to different foster care facilities and youths to create, write, cast and star in their own 10-minute short films, allowing them to tell their stories, their way. This culminates in an annual screening and awards ceremony where we make sure our youth are seen, heard, validated and celebrated. We were founded in May, 2009.
