About KidSport Alberta

KidSport Alberta is a non-profit organization that believes no kid should be left on the sidelines. Alongside our 38 local chapters across the province, we provide support to children in order to remove financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sports. All kids should be given the opportunity to lead happy, healthy lifestyles; by supporting low-income kids from marginalized and undeserved groups, we provide opportunities they would not otherwise have. At KidSport, we believe sport changes lives. Participating in sport allows kids to learn life skills and improves academic performance. Most importantly, kids who are active in sports are healthier - physically and mentally. By supporting kids who cannot afford the costs of organized sports, we are doing our part in setting the next generation up for success. So how does KidSport work? - Funds are raised both locally and provincially to provide sport opportunities to kids facing financial barriers. - The KidSport mission is promoted to other communities and strategic alliances are created, all with the goal of finding ways to get more kids involved in sports. - At every step along the way, we advocate for kids, because every child should have access to safe sport programs.
