‘One Way Oahu’, the 2016 collection from Kikidoll, is hot off the drawing board just in time for previews during SwimMiami week. Casting back to carefree days, when a one-way ticket to an island paradise was an adventurous dream to stay forever, Kikidoll’s ‘One Way Oahu’ captures the essence of an Hawaiian free-spirited traveler; a wandering, surfer chic vibe—where a sheer printed beach wrap became a blanket that became a towel that became a carryall. Mixed with solid pastels and neon, Kikidoll’s 2016 prints feature sun-drenched ‘Sharkstooth’ print in sand and salt; oversized neon ‘Pineapples’, pastel Polynesian ‘Orchids’ and every shade of the big Blue seen in Pacific ‘Tsunami’. Styles and designs include: Color-block skinsuits with acid neon detail and mesh panels for cutting the surf. Reversible bikini tops and strappy, cheeky bumster bottoms in Kikidoll's trademark tropical prints, with hippie hallmark touches of crochet and ombre-shade; crop top rashies and mesh paneled beach hipsters to invoke the laid-back 70’s style of the beaches of Waikiki; the oceanic backdrop of the islands always shaping Kikidoll's Hawaiian-rooted designs.
