About Kind Souls Foundation

Founded in 2021 to honor Jennifer Alexy, Kind Souls works to ensure employers understand the need for assistance during the unexpected reality of a work-displacing healthcare event impacting their employees. During her 7-year battle with breast cancer and the months leading up to her passing, Jennifer’s business partner realized that were very limited resources that provided emotional and tangible support within healthcare systems. We know annually *3.2% of employees face displacement from work due to injury or illness. Today, we work to ensure that employers have the information and education available to offer their employees resources, reassurance, empathy, and comfort while connecting with a Kind Soul. We utilize a software platform to identify and expand upon resources, such as local food banks, utility assistance, grief/loss support, and more. Our trained volunteers use language that resonates with employees and family members, assisting callers with compassionate listening and valuable information on local resources, often connecting them with other nonprofit programs. We want employers to understand that accessing a warm line encourages a safe space for employees to share their thoughts and circumstances while we empower these callers to take steps towards positive mental wellness.
