About KinderSmile Foundation
KinderSmile Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity corporation that envisions a future where every child has access to a dentist and dental disease is eradicated. Our mission is to provide underserved children with access to comprehensive dental care and educate children and their families on the importance of dental hygiene. What began as a passion project for full-time dentist Dr. Nicole McGrath to help local children avoid the pain and embarrassment of untreated tooth decay turned into a charity organization with global impact on making children lead healthier lives. We provide comprehensive dental care and oral health education to children and their families through three primary programs: 1) KinderSmile Oral Health Program, providing direct dental care and education to children at local child care centers or at our own dental home, KinderSmile Community Oral Health Center (KSCOHC) in Bloomfield, NJ—regardless of families' ability to pay. 2) Community Service Learning Program, offering mentoring and guidance to the next generation of public health advocates and dentists; volunteer and internship opportunities for students from high school through grad programs. 3) Perinatal Health & Wellness Program, empowering uninsured women who are pregnant or caring for children under the age of five with oral health education that helps them better care for themselves and their families; free dental care available following educational instruction. Learn more about KinderSmile's additional projects, including annual mission trips abroad and the new "Give Back A Smile" program for dental professionals by visiting www.kindersmile.org/get-involved.
