About Kindfulness

"Kindfulness" is a blend word of kindness and mindfulness. As a community-driven nonprofit based in Columbus, Ohio, USA, Kindfulness focuses on five core populations who have experienced unhousing, trafficking, reentry, sexuality/gender-related stressors, and military veteranship. Kindfulness' strategies include: 1. Involving consumers with lived experiences of the five core populations in decision making from services, leadership, to organizational operation. 2. Establishing & maintaining a 24/7/365 accessible smart vending machines, anywhere delivery, and mobile outreach to distribute resources where physical access to conventional sources is limited due to distance, transit mode, mobility, operating hours, privacy concerns, technological fluency, languages, resource types, etc. 3. Providing access to tangible & intangible resources vital to the main missions (e.g., health, safety, job, housing, etc.) that are limited to no availability by conventional resource agencies such as bicycles, tents, large duffle bags, solar power banks, make-up kits, mobile device protections, consumer digital services, etc. 4. Establishing & coordinating a community-driven service-research-policy network to validate, optimize, & monitor the effectiveness, accountability, and sustainability of evidence-based programs & policies 5. Providing mind-body interventions such as mindfulness-based stress reduction and mindfulness-oriented relapse enhancement. 6. Providing experiential skill-training on utilizing resources led by peers and specialists, such as survival skills for those living in homeless camps or new to "living on the street," harm reduction, patient-provider communication, self-advocacy, psychoeducation
