About Kinnegar Wines

Kinnegar Wines specialises in the import and distribution of some of the best wines made in South Africa. It was founded and is run by Dr Eilis Cryan while studying for the WSET (Wine & Spirits Education Trust) Diploma in 1998/9. Eilis visits the Cape twice a year to taste new releases and to try and stay abreast of developments in the wine business there. As the business is small by commercial standards, it succeeds by having an in-depth knowledge of South African wines and winemakers and only bringing the very best to the Irish market. Thelema Mountain Vineyards, De Trafford Wines, Paul Cluver Wines, Malgas Wines, Buitenverwachting, Rustenberg, Kanu and Mullineux Family Wines are among the estates represented. All of the wines in the portfolio come from family run estates and most of the winemakers are members of the prestigious Cape Winemakers Guild. We have plans to look at some very special wines on our next trip in March with a view to adding to our current portfolio.
