About KNOT Strong
KNOT Strong is a podcast by and for men who've been through it – and lived to tell the story. Hosted by two Christian cancer survivors, KNOT Strong tackles life's greatest challenges with authenticity, grit and faith. Whether you're in recovery, reinventing yourself, or just trying to stay afloat, this podcast is your weekly drop-in to be encouraged and strengthened. Join us as we share stories about health battles, business ups and downs, relationships, and more. We'll even throw in a little surf and outdoor adventure talk to keep things fun! Founder and Co-Host, Kurtis Loftus, is an accomplished creative—a former marketing firm owner, endurance athlete, two-time world-record-holding surfer, and founder of Jacksonville Beach’s iconic “Deck the Chairs" event, and arts program. Married for over 40 years, he’s also a Christian, a longtime mentor in recovery, and a survivor of Stage 3 prostate cancer. The name, "KNOT Strong" is a play on words, a dual-meaning acronym for "Kurtis NO Testosterone", relating a testosterone-removal cancer treatment that Kurtis has had to overcome as part of his battle with the disease. Co-founder and Co-Host, Tim Hamby, is a fellow Creative Director and life-long surfer. Tim also founded and led his own marketing firm, a national award-winning agency that focused in real estate and was one of Jacksonville's Fastest Growing Companies for 5 years in a row. Married for over 30 years, Tim is a survivor of a rare stage 4 colon cancer with stage 4 kidney failure diagnosis. Both men are living well, today. Kutis and Tim launched KNOT Strong, not for financial gain, but to help encourage other men by sharing insights and inspiration on a variety of life topics. They plan to bring on guests including subject matter experts and other men willing to share their own life-changing experiences.
