OUR VISION To share knowledge and information that encourages readers to be grounded in the awesomeness of their own Self-Worth. As a result, they are better able to understand themselves, respect their fellow humans and create a society in which there is more compassion, love, and respect. OUR VALUES Self-Literacy- A journey to a better self through knowledge of the body and mind that ultimately results in happier, healthier, and less fearful SUPER-AWESOME human beings. Self-Worth- Knowing that your value on this Earth is as great as any other human being on this Earth. Self- Advocacy- Find your voice. Ask questions and Speak your truth. Representation - Acknowledge and represent the diversity of the community that we live in and activate curriculum that acknowledges and respects the diversity in human intelligence and learning styles. OUR STORY Know Yourself was created when our 4 year-old-daughter came running to us as she discovered a thumping in her chest. She had discovered her heartbeat. When we explained that it was her heartbeat, it opened an unending stream of questions about her body, what it is made of and how it works. As we searched for materials to help her budding curiosity about her body, we just couldn’t find it. From here, Know Yourself was born and it continued to transform into the company we are today. Since 2013, we have continued to grow, and have been teaching children about their most important possession - themselves: their bodies, minds and the inextricable and wondrous connection between the two. In doing so children are led to a path of self-literacy and self-worth.
