The idea hit me like a ton of bricks one day while riding the "L" downtown. My roommate had emailed me to make sure I had seen the day's Groupon for the restaurant that I loved next door. Since I get tons of emails - I had missed it, and almost missed out on a great deal. Then, my girlfriend called me because she had found a ridiculous deal on a pair of mountaineering boots. They were 80% off (a big deal on items that cost $800 normally) and happened to still have my size. I would have never found it had she not emailed me. That's when it hit me. Tripit does a great job of managing my travel. Mint does a great job of managing my finances. Pandora can recommend music based on my preferences. Why doesn't a site exist that gets to know me, and manages my shopping? An automated personal shopper - so I don't have to rely on the goodwill of my friends. With that insight - KoalaDeal was born!
