About Korean Students Organization (UChicago)
Founded in 1976, the Korean Students Organization (KSO) at the University of Chicago is one of the oldest and most active cultural student groups on campus. With over 100 active undergraduate and graduate members annually, KSO fosters a vibrant community rooted in Korean heritage, cultural exchange, and cross-cultural dialogue. KSO is dedicated to representing the Korean community at UChicago and beyond — hosting professional networking events, social gatherings, and cultural programs that unite students with a shared interest in Korean identity and culture. In 1980, KSO launched UChicago’s first-ever culture show, a tradition that continues more than four decades later. Our mission is to elevate Korean voices, build lasting community, and cultivate understanding across diverse backgrounds through inclusive and impactful programming. We welcome all students — Korean and non-Korean alike — to join us, engage with our events, and be part of a supportive, dynamic network.
