About Koromiko Gardening
Gardening and Soft Landscaping Services including; garden maintenance, garden rescue, planting plans, edible gardens and soft landscaping. Our Philosophy We aim to help you make the most of your garden in the most sustainable way possible. We are informed by organic and permaculture principles. Where possible we use organic products. We will work with you to help you get the most from your garden. We specialise in the use of New Zealand natives and helping you set up edible gardens. We can also advise on how you can make your garden wildlife and bee friendly and water-smart. Where we use non-native species we ensure they are suited to the environment of your garden and that they are not invasive species. About Us Belinda and Marc. We have many years gardening experience and are both currently studying a Level 3 Certificate in Horticulture. We have both completed a Permaculture Design Certificate. Belinda has gardened for many years and comes from a family of gardeners. She has a particular interest in garden design, propagation and growing edible plants. Marc has a Certificate in Ecological Restoration from Victoria University of Wellington, and has worked and volunteered in New Zealand conservation for a number of years. Marc is knowledgeable about New Zealand natives and edible plants. He is also passionate about composting. Why ‘Koromiko Gardening’? The Koromiko (Hebe stricta) is a New Zealand native shrub and an important species to Māori because of its uses in Rongoa Māori - traditional māori healing. When we lived in the UK we had a number of beautiful koromiko shrubs which we later discovered came from New Zealand. We felt that this species created a bridge between our two worlds. See less
