About Kristin School

Kristin School is an independent, co-educational school with more than 1800 students from Early Learning through to Year 13, located in Albany on Auckland’s North Shore. Kristin is structured as three schools within one whole school. The Junior, Middle and Senior Schools are all located on the same campus in Albany, on 50 acres of park-like grounds with state-of-the-art and award winning facilities. Each school follows the philosophy of Kristin while creating their own distinctive character relative to the age group of the students. The first school in New Zealand to introduce the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma in 1989, Kristin remains the only school in the country authorised to teach the full IB continuum, including the IB Primary and Middle Years programmes. Recognised as one of New Zealand’s leading independent schools, Kristin graduates regularly gain access to leading overseas universities. The school has developed student exchange links with countries across the globe and regularly welcomes international students into its classrooms. Back home in New Zealand, Kristin is renowned for its progressive approach to education and has been a national leader with innovations such as the school-wide teaching of Mandarin, the development of specialised Middle School teaching methods and a innovative digital learning programme from kindergarten to Year 13.
