About Krowned

Armed with a powerful idea and a vision, Lucrece Legacy (medical student) and Christiane Sungu (paralegal) both came up with the concept of Krowned in 2016. Both founders had met at a beauty pageant and whilst forming their friendship, the two young ladies realised they had a lot in common, namely their passion for hair. Lucrece and Christiane both recognised the importance of hair amongst black women, how it can affect their confidence and the role it plays in society today as ultimately, your hair is your crown. Today, Krowned aims to empower young black women through their hair to instill them with the confidence to succeed, one strand at a time! Krowned wants to empower women in becoming confident members of society and achieve a better outlook and success socially, academically, and commercially. This is currently being done through workshops, educating wider audiences on the adversity women from ethnic minorities face and social media. To date, Krowned has had many successes, including its involvement with empowering youth in the UK to having its official launch event in January, 20:20 Vision, which was a great success. This is only the beginning as Krowned aims to not only have an impact in the UK, but to carry out work in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
