About Krugersdorp High School
Krugersdorp High School was Established in 1903, making the school one of the oldest schools in our Greater Westrand Community. The school has a rich culture of excellence that we encourage all learners and educators to encompass. The school has always been viewed as a thought leader within the educational sector and as a result has found itself to be one of the highest demanded schools. The average size of class is between 25 - 30 learners as we are of the belief that a child needs focused attention when being educated. The school has a wide variety of subjects to choose from allowing learners the opportunity to explore a multitude of potential interests for their careers. We encourage our learners the opportunity to get involved in further opportunities linked to developing their academics, including challenges such as the MPC Challenge with the South African Reserve Bank. As we boast 17 hectares of pristine property, the school has the opportunity to provide our children with many other additional opportunities both on the sports field and on stage. Consistently our learners achieve distict, provincial and national representation in various fields. We are of the firm belief that a learner needs to develop holistically and it is for this reason, that we encourage our learners to not only focus on their academics, but on being involved in the multitude of activities. Further to our school offerings, the school is home to 100 learners in the boys and girls residences, these provide learners from outside our community to be a part of our school. The residence offers a wide range of positive attributes to the development of a learner - the boys and girls are taught independence, can get involved in a number of activities at the school and can focus on their academic development in a nurturing environment.
