KSwish Foundation harnesses the transformative power of basketball to foster a sense of community, hope, and support, especially for families and children affected by pediatric cancer. Through community engagement events, we illustrate how the courage and spirit displayed on the basketball court can translate into compassion and resilience in facing life’s toughest challenges. For us, basketball is a catalyst for healing and building a supportive network where every dribble, pass, and shot contributes to a larger goal of raising a community to uplift and empower children and families. Our foundation draws its inspiration from the unconquerably resilient spirit of Kenneth “K-Swish” Sims, a courageous teen who faced life-threatening illness with “active faith,” courage, and a team roster of supporters inclusive of friends, family, and community. Inspired by their son Kenneth’s generosity, tenacity, magnetism, and faith, his parents, Terrance Sims, and Meshanette Johnson-Sims, established KSwish Foundation. It is a tangible expression of their deep love and unwavering commitment to uniting communities, nurturing athletes, and infusing hope into the lives of families navigating the challenging journey of pediatric cancer—a testament to what would have been Kenneth’s wish. We believe in the profound impact of collective strength, resources, and compassion to shape a brighter, more supportive, and meaningful path for children and families. Together in teamwork, we support families to rebound from adversity. We provide hospital care packages, support with uncovered medical equipment, and access to events that enrich the moments that children and families have with one another. Every donation, collaboration, and shared resource strengthens our power to support these brave children and their families.
