About KT Joinery
Newcastle Sixth Form College can be traced back to 1872 when the eminent Rev. Dr. John Hunter Rutherford established Bath Lane School and later the Rutherford Grammar School, which was founded in 1877. In 1894 Rutherford Memorial College was opened by HRH Duke of York. At this time subjects included chemistry, physiology, mathematics, arts and languages. In 1956 the school moved and was opened by H.M. Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. In 1975 the college began offering A Levels. In 2001 Newcastle Sixth Form College was established as a new name. In 2012 KT Joinery provided the full joinery package for the new purpose-built, multi-million pound building.
