About Kunstindustrien

Kunstindustrien's vision is to continue to develop our products with focus on sustainability, good craftsmanship and materials of high quality. At the same time, we continuously strive to add new products and concepts into our portfolio. Our story began right after WWII, in Bredgade in Copenhagen in the back of a small catholic bookstore, located opposite of the Kunstindustrimuseet that inspired to the name of KunstIndustrien. Here candles were cast at night and sold in the shop the following day. Many years later KunstIndustrien closed the shop and became wholesaler, exhibiting and trading via fairs only. Throughout the years, quality was always of crucial importance, and there has been ongoing experimentation with both candle mass, wicks, and casting techniques to arrive at the unique wax altar candles as we know them today. The wax altar candles are Kunstindustrien’s signature product. Over the years, several other products have been developed and added to our portfolio including candle holders, coloured-through dipped candles, hurricanes, Living by Heart outdoor candles and lately ANIA ceramics.
