Kymaner, is an engineering company that was created in 2005 specialised in the Oscillating Water Column (OWC) technology. Kymaner, is developing a new type of radial self-rectifying air turbine, a Biradial turbine named KymanAIR that is expected to exceed in efficiency all the known air turbine concepts for use is Oscillating Water Column installations. Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations predict a peak efficiency of 81%. A program of model testing with a rotor of 0.5m diameter is being carried on. The KymanAIR - Biradial turbine is an innovative self-rectifying impulse turbine that substantially differs from all previous concepts. It is very compact axially, mechanically simple and reliable and shows a wide operating range capability with unmatched efficiency. Kymaner sets the new limit to the exploration of high efficiency OWC floating systems either as single system WECs or as complementary solutions integrated in offshore windpower converters.
