Firm Foundation... L. G. Everist started in 1876 selling retail coal in Havana, Illinois. Our namesake, Lucus Garland Everist, saw an opportunity to supply a high quality product to a marketplace full of second-rate goods. He paid attention to what his customers wanted: routine delivery of a common product at a minimum of trouble and cost. Fast-forward 130+ years and three generations later, the focus is just as sharp. In a marketplace driven by commodity mind-sets, the flow-rate of our business hasn’t really changed. We continue to earn business every day with details such as quality, on-time delivery, personal attention, and solutions to the problems our customer’s face - across all our division and facilities.
