About L.S.A. Custodia

L.S.A. Custodia is the international study association for the B.Sc. Security Studies, B.Sc. Cybersecurity & Cybercrime, and M.Sc. Crisis and Security Management at Leiden University in The Hague. Founded in 2018, Custodia has grown into a dynamic and inclusive community that connects students with one another, the university, and the professional world. Our mission is to enrich the academic journey by combining learning, networking, and student life in a balanced and accessible way. We organise a broad range of activities, ranging from embassy visits, guest lectures, and study trips to social gatherings, sports events, and career workshops. By offering both academic and informal opportunities, Custodia provides members with the full experience of Dutch student life without the obligations of more demanding associations. Custodia is built on a multidisciplinary approach to safety and security challenges. We bring together students from different programmes, cultures, and backgrounds, fostering connections that extend beyond the classroom. Through this, our members expand their knowledge, strengthen their professional networks, and build friendships that last far beyond their studies. Our community thrives on three pillars: 1. Academic and professional growth through lectures, excursions, and partnerships. 2. Social cohesion and inclusivity through borrels, trips, and cultural events. 3. Personal development through active involvement in committees and leadership opportunities. Today, Custodia continues to evolve alongside its members, preparing the next generation of students for careers in security, crisis management, and related fields, while ensuring a supportive and down-to-earth student community in The Hague.
