About LA Biotech Center
INTRODUCTION Founded in 2016, LA Biotech Center is a unique biotech-based, non-profit education and research company located in Los Angeles, California. Our mission is to support the advancement of stem cell science and create real-world pathways to bioscience careers. We achieve these goals through a combination of education programs and contract research services. We are the only biotech organization in the world that offers hands-on science programs for students at every grade level - Pre-K to 12 and college. SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH Our broad scientific mission is to advance stem cell science and regenerative medicine by lowering the barriers to working with stem cells. Our internal R&D program focuses on developing improved, cost-effective, labor-effective, and cGMP-compliant bioprocesses and methods. We take part in cutting-edge stem cell research, working collaboratively with scientists in industry and academia from around the world. Our novel status as a non-profit allows us to provide comprehensive, low-cost support to other non-profits like universities and small research institutes. We can provide a variety of contract research services including cell line development, cell line characterization, cell banking, production of genetically modified cell, differentiation into specific lineages, exosome isolation, assay development, and other specialty services. We also provide industry level training in a stem cell techniques. EDUCATION PROGRAMS Our innovative pipeline of Pre-k to college education programs provide transferable skills for school, college, internships and employment to students of all ages. At every level, our students learn real-life science hands-on with stem cells in research labs alongside professional scientists. Our educational mission is to inspire, guide and prepare students for future bioscience careers. Unlike other STEM programs, we are accessible, admitting eligible students on a first-come-first-served basis.
