LaChance Publishing was founded in 2005 by Debra LaChance. Diagnosed that year with breast cancer, she learned from her treatment experience that those challenged by chronic or life-threatening illness or disease would benefit from: (1) reading the personal stories of people who had faced these challenges and who could provide information, insight and perspective to others dealing with the same issues; (2) an easily accessible way in which people could contact each other about these issues; and (3) a comprehensive source for medical, social, financial and other information relating to the causes of, and treatment and support for persons with serious illness. The Voices Of book series was created to speak to the emotional issues of dealing with disease from many perspectives, books that could be referred to again and again as a person moved through the various stages of an illness. We collect the personal stories of people from around the world and from all walks of life who articulate in interesting ways how they have faced the challenges of a wide variety of physical and emotional illness. 100% of the profits from the sale of the Voices Of books are donated to support the programs of The Healing Project, www.thehealingproject.org, which provides resources and information for those in need and which supports Voices Who Care, a social network that allows people to contact others seeking information, insight and support. LaChance Publishing has grown into a successful publishing company which specializes in the publication of general interest books on health and medical science. Our books are distributed by Independent Publishers Group throughout the United States and in all English-speaking countries around the world.
