About La Chapelle Hermitage
La Chapelle is part of the heritage of the world’s finest wines. Its 26-hectare vineyard extends over the most beautiful terroirs of Hermitage. Since its first vintage, La Chapelle has been made from an exceptional blend of Syrah grapes drawn from the famous Méal and Bessards parcels of the hill of Hermitage itself. A unique diversity of terroirs, the hallmark of the Hermitage hill, from which La Chapelle is the perfect embodiment. Knight Gaspard de Sterimberg, returning from crusades, settled in this little chapelle in the 13th century and cultivated the vines. A hermit's life that gives its name to the Hermitage appellation and to our white wine, Le Chevalier de Sterimberg. Since 1919, on these steep and rocky slopes where only human hands can intervene, the Jaboulet family and then the Frey family have succeeded each other in cultivating the vineyards of this legendary cuvée, La Chapelle hermitage. For nearly 20 years, Caroline Frey, Domaine de La Chapelle's president and head winemaker have been working to sustain this unique heritage with humility and passion, revealing the genius of this timeless place. La Chapelle, a domaine that tames time through vintages of unwavering freshness and purity. WITH EACH SIP, WE DRAW CLOSER TO ETERNITY.
