About LaBranche Family Foundation, Inc

In 2001 our family was personally touched by an article in our neighborhood newspaper which profiled several families. Each family had a different story; however they shared one common thread. They felt invisible and were desperately in need of necessities (food, clothing) during the Christmas season. We joined our community, we privately adopted our first family and that’s how our story began. In 2014, our hearts were again touched by a Mother’s simple wish for new pajamas. She explained that while clothing is a necessity, her children's clothing was often donated and previously worn. She simply wanted her two sons to awake on Christmas morning in a pair of NEW PAJAMAS. Between 2001 and 2017 our family privately adopted over 45 families, granting the Christmas wishes for each child and often the guardians. Between 2014 and 2017 our family honored a mothers wish for new pajamas and privately hosted an annual dinner each year donating more than 160 pairs of new pajamas to children in need. In 2017, we organized as a non-profit organization and became known as the “LaBranche Family Foundation Inc. The mission of the LaBranche Family Foundation is to offer support to financially challenged families, families impacted by tragedy, women and children who reside in homeless shelters and residents in assisted living centers within Will County and our boarder communities, as guided by four impactful pillar programs. Christmas Wish Program This program grants provisional wishes THROUGHOUT the year! Holiday Organized Pajama Event (HOPE) This program donates the gift of new pajamas THROUGHOUT the year! Education Program This program awards annual scholarships and grants to local Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Programs. Health & Wellness Program This program offers free wellness sessions hosted by our Health & Wellness Chair which are facilitated by Medical Professionals and Community Resources.
