(1) is sponsorship sales for properties (venues, teams, events) in sports, arts and entertainment & (2) sponsorship negotiation, evaluation and activation. Jeff LaClaire is the founder and principal of LaClaire & Co., which is an Atlanta based firm that provides sponsorship and promotional consulting to the retail, entertainment and sports industries. LaClaire began his career as a marketing executive at NASCAR, overseeing the implementation of sponsorships for 26 Official Sponsors, which included Anheuser-Busch, Chevrolet, DuPont, Gatorade, Kodak, and McDonalds. He came to Atlanta in 1998 when he was named Sports Marketing Manager for MCI Telecommunication. There he managed a $30 million sponsorship and advertising budget that included sporting events and promotions throughout N. America, S. America, Asia, and Australia. LaClaire launched LaClaire & Co. in 2006 when it secured Macy's as a client. The retail giant signed the firm to secure non-traditional forms of revenue through experiential marketing tactics, events and promotions. LaClaire also signed The Gwinnett Arena along with Lanier Parking Solutions. Our philosophy is that you have to gain the experience of working for a major sports property, brand or athlete first to fully understand how to be an effective sponsorship consultant.
