Lainomedical is a medtech company currently developing a new medical device for the administration of therapies via airways. The mission is to improve the quality of life of those patients that use nebulizers for the administration of specific treatments. The Problem. The clinical guidelines published by scientific societies regarding inhaled therapies acknowledge that today's nebulizers, while being highly efficient, present a series of drawbacks which limit their use in comparison with other devices. In specific terms, they are difficult to use and transport, and moreover, require painstaking maintenance (cleaning and disinfection) if they are to continue working correctly and avoid infection. Solution. NEBULOK solves many of the problems and drawbacks associated with current devices. With its innovative system of pre-loaded, single-dose and disposable capsules with built-in vibrating mesh, solves all the problems associated with nebulization. In just one simple step, the nebulizer is ready for use and requires no cleaning or disinfection after each administration. Its convenient size, handy rechargeable batteries and single-dose, disposable capsule system enable patients to carry the device with them at all times and to use it anywhere. This is main benefit of our technology: • Avoids medication errors since the dose to be administered is pre-loaded, ready to use and pre-sealed in disposable single-dose capsules. • Does not require cleaning or disinfection after each use since the mouthpiece (which comes into contact with the patient) and the vibrating mesh (in contact with the medication) are both integrated into the capsule that is discarded after each administration. • Can be assembled and loaded in one simple step, making it extremely easy to use. Moreover, its small size and batteries that can be recharged exactly like a mobile phone, ensure that it can be used anywhere.
