About Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center
Our Mission To encourage and celebrate the responsible use and long term stewardship of Lake Champlain by fostering educational and recreational opportunities for all members of our community. The CSC is a community-based non-profit organization celebrating its 29th year of providing lake access and educational programs. The CSC has received national awards from U.S. Sailing for its innovative programming and hallmark performance, and is a vital community resource on the Burlington waterfront that provides recreation, education, and access to Lake Champlain for over 8,000 people each year. We engage our community with the Lake through a wide range of educational and recreational programs that extend an open invitation to everyone regardless of age, gender, race, physical ability, or the means to pay. Our Signature Programs are specifically designed for youth development and people with disabilities, which enable under-served populations to access Lake Champlain. Our educational programs continue throughout the year, allowing students to study the human impacts affecting the lake in a hands-on teaching environment. Using non-motorized boats - sailboats, kayaks, canoes and paddleboards - participants learn valuable life lessons that instill a sense of ownership in one of Vermont’s most valuable natural resources – Lake Champlain. The CSC is a valuable lakeside hub that provides award-winning programs for over 60 of local community organizations, schools, and businesses.
