About Lamar Community College
A comprehensive community college on the Southeastern Colorado plains, Lamar Community College (LCC) serves students from a primary service area of Baca, Cheyenne, Kiowa, and Prowers, Colorado counties as well as students from around the nation and world. We take our mission of "We enrich lives through learning" literally and realize that is both a privilege and an honor to assist students of all ages to realize their educational goals, whether it be as simple as enrolling in a fitness course or completing a course of study to begin a new career. Established in 1937, we are the product of the tenacious pioneers who settled in the area over the past 150 years. Positioned along the Santa Fe Trail and now on the Ports-to-Plains Trade Corridor, LCC plans to continue to evolve to serve the needs of area residents and in the global economy. In addition to transfer degrees and career & technical education offerings (courses, certificates and associate degrees), LCC offers developmental coursework and pre-college services and bridge courses to complete one's bachelor's degree. It welcomes working with regional partners in businesses, government agencies, and non-profit organizations to grow our region.
