About Langauge Doctor

Friendly and approachable, I tailor my teaching and tutoring to YOUR needs and requests. You choose how you want the tutoring to go. I can work from my own resources or mix these with the syllabus you/your child is currently working from. All levels of teaching and tutoring offered, from holiday conversation skills through primary and secondary school level language tuition, to degree level and beyond. We can work together on all four skill areas; listening, speaking, reading and writing, while incorporating grammar and making the learning fun! You can, of course, choose to focus on only one or a few of these areas if you wish. Service includes everything from checking school homework to exam preparation and I also offer translation services and proof reading at all levels. I have much experience of teaching spanning several years, countries, and levels. I lectured and led seminars (German grammar and translation, German culture, and German literature) during my PhD at The University of Manchester. Previously, I taught English for two years in two German grammar schools. I have also worked one on one while teaching English and German to French children (between the ages of four and 12) when I was an au pair, as well as doing some French and German language tuition at all levels (primary school, SATs, GCSE, A-Level, degree level) in county Durham during university holiday periods.
