Danish native Lars Noah Balderskilde has painstakingly browsed estate sales, village markets, and private collections across Denmark to find high-quality, hand-crafted furniture. The result is Lanoba which focuses on curating authentic pieces that have been crafted during the golden age of Mid-Century Modern Design between 1950-1975 in Denmark. Balderskilde has personally curated and restored every item in the Lanoba collection, traveling across Denmark to select a wide range of hand-crafted furniture. Iconic designers such as Hans Wegner, Arne Jakobson, Børge Mogensen and Kai Kristiansen are represented alongside more traditional mid-range Danish design. Based on the concept that design is also art, Balderskilde also pulls from his vast knowledge of Danish history and furniture-making to tell the story of many of his works. Celebrated globally and setting the standard for modern design, Danish modern pieces have retained and grown in value over the years. All Lanoba stock is acquired and brought to the US directly under the control of the company and are not reproductions, replicas or ¨inspired by¨ productions but rather authentic Danish crafted furniture ensuring a greater investment potential. The Lanoba warehouse is based in the Jersey City Powerhouse district, where the fast-growing sixth borough presents the perfect location for this trendy start-up.
