About Lasting Empowerment for Teen Success
Lasting Empowerment for Teen Success (LETS) is a non-profit corporation based in Austin, Texas. Our mission is to empower incarcerated youth through mentorship by providing creative outlets, fostering self-worth, and building sustainable support systems through advocacy within our communities. Incarcerated youth are an extremely vulnerable population, and LETS believes that a steady, positive presence in the lives of these individuals is invaluable. Our program offers the opportunity for long-term, positive impact at juvenile detention facilities. We believe that art can be used as a tool for self-expression which gives our youth an opportunity to process their emotions in a healthy way. Art also provides an escape from the boredom, stress, and anxiety of incarceration through engagement with their imagination.
