LATIN-19 is an interdisciplinary, multi-sector coalition dedicated to sustainably improving the health and wellness of diverse Hispanic/Latine communities. Our vision is clear: health and wellness for our Hispanic/Latine community. Our mission guides us to: * Foster collective leadership rooted in community voice. * Build trusting, collaborative, multi-sector partnerships and alliances. * Provide a platform that honors, includes, and uplifts all voices. * Engage and stand alongside historically marginalized communities. * Amplify the strengths and resilience of each Hispanic/Latine community. * Transform systems for true inclusion, equity, and sustainability. Founded during the COVID-19 pandemic, LATIN-19 has grown into a critical space where community members, health professionals, researchers, nonprofits, and policymakers come together to address health disparities and barriers to care. We recognize that health is more than access to medical services—it is shaped by social, cultural, economic, and systemic factors. That’s why our approach is intersectional, holistic, and equity-driven. Through dialogue, collaboration, and action, we are building healthier futures for Hispanic/Latine families across North Carolina and creating a model for inclusive, community-rooted coalitions nationwide.
