About Latino STEM Alliance

Latino STEM Alliance’s (LSA) mission is to inspire and empower under-resourced youth to achieve educational and career success in STEM fields. Since 1990, STEM jobs in the United States have grown 79%, however, Latinos are sorely underrepresented in the field, making up a mere 7% of all STEM workers in the country. STEM careers are plentiful, yet low-wealth students of color often lack exposure to the field and are shut out of opportunities. Lacking preparation which rigorous, hands-on STEM education provides, thousands of under-resourced students in the Greater Boston area are denied the chance to pursue STEM postsecondary education and careers.
