About Le Voyageur Outdoor Products
Ticks, Lyme Disease, Alpha Gal Syndrome, Malaria and other insect-born diseases are a growing concern in all countries and Le Voyageur Outdoor Products is addressing this health concern with an innovative, new garment, uniquely designed for anyone working in the outdoors. Specifically created for the forestry, mining, military and prospecting sectors, as well as wildlife biologists, fishermen, hunters and anyone else who spends copious amounts of time in the wilderness where ticks and other biting insects abound , this newly patented outer garment will prove invaluable in protecting human health. Called "The Tick Suit" this coveralls-style garment features 4 ventilation panels: under the arms and behind the legs with each panel consisting of 3 layers of durable and fine mesh, which ensures cool ventilation on hot, sticky days. In addition, the suit is made of insect-resistant fabric with knee and elbow padding to allow people to work on their hands and knees (eg. forestry mechanics) as well as numerous pockets which eliminates the need to wear any kind of clothing under the suit (more clothing = more heat retention). In addition, the removable and adjustable mesh headpiece sports a clear plastic visor for improved vision and a small re-sealable opening to allow the wearer to eat, drink or smoke without exposing the whole face. The headpiece is also adjustable vertically to allow the wearer to switch between an ATV helmet, construction hardhat, or wide-brimmed (Tilley) hat. Proudly made in Canada, this "Tick Suit" is being marketed towards larger corporations and military that work in Canada's far north or anywhere else in the world where employee protection and morale is of high importance. Because of its complexity and cost of manufacture, this garment is not intended to compete with short-lived, economical "mosquito jackets" that everyone is familiar with. This is intended to be a "Cadillac" model that will set new standards in the market of PPE.
